In a deep-freeze warehouse, it is important to keep the air space to be cooled as small as possible. Because air heats up quickly, it has to be cooled at a high cost and with losses. Modern refrigeration technology<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

When storing and retrieving frozen products, warm and humid air repeatedly enters the deep-freeze warehouse.
The warm and humid air settles on the cold-generating evaporators of the refrigeration system and ices them up. Conventional systems use electricity to defrost this ice. We, on the other hand, use the lost heat from the refrigeration system to heat water.<\/p>\n

This warm water is led into the evaporators to melt the ice. A nice side effect: the excess hot water is used to ensure that the floor in the ARCTIS offices is always warm when required. Since the new refrigeration system was installed in 2020, ARCTIS has been able to save more than 30% of its energy demands per year.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A generator, connected to the drive axle, supplies the energy for the battery. This reduces diesel consumption by 5 to 8 liters per operating hour.

During the construction of the new ARCTIS building, the entire
hall roof was equipped with a photovoltaic system.<\/p>\n

It provides approximately 240,000 kWh of electrical energy per year. This corresponds to around 100 tons of CO2 savings per year.
